55 Plymouth Avenue - Transformed to Owner Occupied Home!
Our project aims to transform homes like this
into owner-occupied dwellings.
55 Plymouth Avenue
Cute circa-1870 Victorian gabled Italianate-style 2-bedroom 1 full and 1 half-bathroom single-family home. The house, originally on Pennsylvania
Street, was moved to its present location in 1885. It has the following features:
-
Lot size: 42' X 60'
-
Square footage: 1,136 feet
-
Assessed valuation: $23,000
-
Great location - only steps away from Pennsylvania Street
-
Wide and bright lot near Kleinhans Music Hall - side yard can be used for a garden, for parking space, or even to build a garage or addition
-
Two story front portion of house with 1 story kitchen wing.
-
The main portion of the house had the majority of the roof replaced a few years ago, not including the kitchen wing
-
New gas furnace
-
Large cinder-block basement with three “rooms.” It is clean and ready to be finished for living space. Basement has a sump pump
in one corner and then a smaller room with sink and washer/dryer hookups
-
First floor has a small foyer at front entrance, a good sized living room, leading to a smaller dining room (with closet), with a pass through “window” leading to a small, functional kitchen with a pantry
-
Second floor has two small bedrooms, each with a closet
-
Exterior has composition siding over wooden clapboards
- Walking distance to so much: Allentown restaurants and cultural venues, Tops Supermarket on
Niagara and Hudson Street, Kleinhans Music Hall, Karpeles Document Manuscript Museum, Days Park, Symphony Circle and LaSalle Park
at the foot of Hudson Street
- Great things happening on block as part of collaberation with Kleinhans
Community Association and Heart of the City Neighborhoods, Inc.
