15 Plymouth Avenue - Transformed to owner-occupied home

Our project aims to transform homes like this
into owner-occupied dwellings.
15 Plymouth is one of the first houses to be transformed.

Victorian home built in 1879:

An exciting partnership has been announced between the Kleinhans Community Association (KCA), Heart of the City Neighborhoods, Inc. (HCN) and West Side Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. (WSNHS) to focus on the KCA target area of Plymouth Avenue between Hudson Street and Pennsylvania Street.

The goals of the project are to encourage home ownership and better maintenance of the block. Parts of the project will include rehabilitation and resale of homes in the neighborhood. The members of the KCA will be expected to help to market the area and homes which are being offered for sale. Several other projects are in the works to help beautify the target area and increase residents safety by reducing crime.

The overall goals of this project are:

  • Identification of the KCA target area of Plymouth Ave. between Hudson and Penn. Sts.
  • Increasing safety and security for residents of the street.
  • Increasing beautification initiatives including gardening efforts and litter clean-up.
  • Improving public infrastructure such as sidewalks and trees.
  • Encouraging property owners to maintain their properties.
  • Transforming vacant and non-owner occupied structures into owner-occupied homes.
